We have customer in Eastern NC that is looking for someone with a sandblaster big enough to etch a 51" dia Pyrex Jug.  He has several that he is looking to have done. This is something that he is planning on having done and selling them. Is there anyone in this area that can do this?

    TIA

Many of the current Pyrex products are manufactured similar to tempered glass so the surface of the glass is under extreme pressure and can explode like tempered glass does when the pressure is released.  Make sure the person who does this job knows whether it is tempered or not.  Tempered glass can be sandcarved up to about 10% of the thickness of the glass with minimal risk, but there is still that risk.  I personally refuse to sandcarve tempered glass.
