It is very difficult to perfectly set up a watch with text and possible circles and areas to avoid. I have made a pretty simple solution. I call it a PenWriter. Place product in vice, and apply usually 2 layers of scotch tape. draw a small circle with the pen writer. PenWriter is a spring loaded ball point pen to draw you area of work.
Once you get perfect center by adjusting your layout. Now increase circle to be more accurate. This really just take less than 2 minutes. Once centered I replace top layer of tape and add another and draw entire text/Logo, etc. If all good remove all tape and engrave with confidence.
This also works with mugs, swords, rings, odd badges, arcs to center, etc. PenWriter is available in 11/64 and 1/4" shaft dia. It uses a std Cross pen refill.
