On the rare occasions I have had to adhere an acrylic award to a wooden base, I recess a piece of black or mirrored acrylic into the top of the base. This is the same thing that American Acrylic Awards does on the bases they sell. I've done the same thing with crystal. Here is a picture of a base I made that has a beveled mirror recessed into the base so I could use UV-cure adhesive to secure the vase to the base.

I use GE II clear silicon adhesive. Seems to work well.

Job requires Pinnacle III award adhering to a wood base. What would be a good adhesive. Double stick tape and that doesn't work.
