  • 1.  College Trustee "Chain of Office" Medallions

    We were approached today by one of our local colleges about getting or producing "Chain of Office" medallions for the college president and trustees to wear during graduation ceremonies.

    We discussed options for stock medals we can produce as well as custom cast medallions. I'm seeing just one Canadian supplier in my ASI ESP database who appears to sell these items.

    If others have assisted colleges with these items, I'd love some leads on what other suppliers I can contact. Our customer doesn't have a preference about a ribbon or chain attachment.

    We have most of our custom medals made by AT Design http://www.atdesigns.com/  but have also used Simba in the past as well https://www.simbaline.com/

    Both have always created good product and been great to work with.

    Thanks Karl. We were able to show this customer some of the custom medals we've had produced by various suppliers over the years. I'm hoping to find a supplier who can provide the medallions and the chain or wide ribbon as well.

    Judy, we would be able to help you with your custom medals. You may want to also check with Medallic Arts/MedalCraft Mint. Medallic Arts I think went out of business several years ago and Medalcraft acquired their assets. They specialized in the chains and maces as well.

    Judy, we can include the ribbons if needed for the medals. I think John at AT could help you if they need a stock chain as Catania does not supply chains. Please have your customer supply you with a picture of the chain they want. I have seen many times over the years that the College President or Regent wants to do a custom chain with many unique different parts to make up the chain which can get expensive. In this case, Medallic Arts may have an advantage since they have many molds already with a bunch of designs but from what I have heard many times they are pretty expensive.
