Happy Monday all, 

I have a customer who brought me a polyester case that is reinforced with fiberglass. I was able to successfully engrave a test spot, but the smell it emitted was a little concerning for me.

The research I did prior to testing seemed like it was safe, but now I'd like to know if anyone else has any experience with this and If I should have concerns about safety as that is our top priority before accepting the job.

Working on a 50 watt CO2 laser.

Hi Julianne.

I haven't tried to laser FRP much. I tried vector cutting, but the laser burnt the edges and it wasn't an acceptable product to give to my customers.

FRP does, however, rotary engrave beautifully if you have that capability at your place.
