We just received the latest Insights magazine and I really love the new look. I don't typically read every article but most that I do are helpful and insightful (pun intended). The magazine is a nice and useful benefit of membership.
However, in this issue there is an article on Automation where information I provided was reported multiple times...incorrectly. I was very disappointed in this. In my case, I will sometimes call someone to ask about something they were quoted about and sometimes I get calls for the same reason. As anyone that knows me knows, I'm very happy to share what I have found that works for us. Anyone reading the article will get incorrect information about our operation. I can't speak to the other folks that were quoted but I hope those answers were accurate.
Understand that there is nothing that reflects badly on me or my company, so I'm not worried about that. But while I'm always willing to contribute, my information needs to be accurate. So just for the record, I'd like to clear up the incorrect quotes:
We do
NOT use NetSuite as our order management system. We use a software call FishBowl Inventory for our entire workflow. We use QuickBooks, which integrates with FishBowl,
NOT Sage as was also erroneously stated for our accounting. Currently we're pleased with both but are always on the lookout for newer and better options.

DID look at NetSuite (which I would love to use but is pricey) and from 2006-2012 we
DID use Sage for everything. It's obvious the author got his notes confused and that can happen when talking to so many people about a foreign industry.
I also noticed when the author stated that I used Sage for accounting, he also says that "others use Essent". Essent just joined and we've looked at them, too, but I'm not aware of "others" that are using them yet.
Thanks for bearing with this little rant. Just like to have things associated with my name to be accurate.
