I have attached a picture, the logo in my art is vector but when we engrave it we get a solid square (with the lines).  It is a customer supplied PDF AND we've used this on other awards with no issue. Just copied it to another job from a previous one - LOL. Any suggestions as to why this might happen? Thanks :-)

Hey Megan! If you want to send me the PDF, I'd be happy to take a look. I suspect it's a bitmap embedded in the PDF as opposed to an actual vector file. info@summitimprints.com

    Megan,

I'm sure you have already viewed this in wireframe to see where the box is coming from. ? Usually when you have a white box it engraves very light, but looks like your engraved heavy, like black.

Since you are an experienced engraver I sure the above wasn't of any value, but for someone else it might prove helpful.

Please share the cause so we all can benefit.

Had a similar problem with an .ai file converted to .pdf.  The .pdf file doesn't laser or print through Corel Draw the way it looks on the screen.  I think Adobe is once again not being compatible with Corel. In our case it was sublimated and we converted it to a .jpeg and went with it. You may have to redraw. I would try to save as other files like .cdr and see if that works.

I wondered that as well - and ultimately redrew the logo to be safe. It's new branding for the City of Bakersfield, and I'd rather not ruin a glass piece in the future. I suspect while we are on PC - most of the graphic world is on a MAC, and sometimes they just don't play well. Thank you all for the info!!!
