We are a full service award manufacturer and promotional products distributor -20,000 sq ft facility ... lasers, embroidery, sandblast, screenprint, direct to product printers, resin pour, cnc routers, woodshop, finishing room walk in spraybooths....we currently use ASI profitmaker software but it does NOT allow us to track real time labor and material costs and  I was wondering what other members with similar style businesses would recommend we try for a software improvement that would give us a precise look at these costs.(some one mentioned Bizwiziq by netsoft studio but unfortunately it appears they don't track time and labor) Thanks

Are you going to the Expo??  I think you might find BizWiz can do what your asking. At the booth you can see a real time demonstration, Under the Misc Charges tab we can add labor cost based on percentage. And depending on what design software your using, for example Corel, you can set it to time the project. I'd give @Debbie Susdorf a buzz and see about BizWIz, I think it's worth the conversation.

That is correct that BizWiz does not track labor.  That was my first question as well as I come from a background of owning a larger landscape/lawncare company previously and we had really great software where the team would clock in and out of specific jobs so we could track bid vs actual, material bid vs actual  as well as indirect time to get to and from jobs, etc.  I feel this is something in our industry that is lacking and greatly needed.  You can always "guess" or have "a feeling" that things are bid right but when you can't truly track it you really don't know if you are winning or losing for the day, week, month until it's too late vs when you have that info at your fingertips at any given time you can make necessary adjustments right away whether that is quoting higher or doing extra training for efficiency, etc.  If you find anything out there please let me know and I will do the same for you!  :)

in any case, are you coming to the Expo??  I think even with proprietary software (other than Corel) they must offer a somewhat real-time way to track time spent on an order. I'd love to talk over what programs you use and if maybe we can find a way around the labor time issue :-)

I don't use QuickBooks but there is a Job Costing software called QuickBooks Time that can track labor time for every order.

in any case, are you coming to the Expo??  I think even with proprietary software (other than Corel) they must offer a somewhat real-time way to track time spent on an order. I'd love to talk over what programs you use and if maybe we can find a way around the labor time issue :-)
