Does anyone have a good way to mount a police badge on a plaque?

Is it a uniform badge with the pin or the flat badge??  We mount both here. When we do the uninform badge we drill small holes in the back of the plaque and use hobby wire treaded through the pin attachments and through the back of the plaque. we will then either put felt on the back of the plaque or countersink and place the twisted wire inside that area. On a flat badge - we use foam tape.

I grind off the findings with a Dremel small cut-off wheel, then I use the same cut-off wheel to remove plating in an area and rough up the back surface so a high-performance foam adhesive gets a good grip, and then you should be set. It takes less than 5 minutes.

If you have the original, it's curved and doesn't lay flat, so the other suggestions you see here work well.

At my company - if we get an early start and have time - we ask the police department to contact their badge supplier (most commonly it's Blackinton) and order a flat version of the badge. It's for this exact application and works great. Having them do it is best since they have an account, their badge is already in the supplier's system, etc.

I use hot glue. Sometimes JB Weld. I glue the pin of the badge to the plaque. I then slide a couple of quarters under either side of the badge to keep it level while the glue is drying/curing. Once dry, slide the quartes out.

Flat badge we use superglue. Thanks Megan for the hints on foam tape and the curved badges!

We went to the foam tape only because we typically don't get the bade until the department picks up. It's annoying, but we figured we needed to find a solution because it just didn't matter what we told them - LOL
