Is there such a thing anymore? Their website is like running through a corn maze. I've got a 20+ year old IS700 (no service contract) that started engraving very badly today. I'll look at it this weekend, but wondering if they still have in the shop service calls.

When I needed a repair this past spring on an M20, I had to ship it in for repair as getting a tech out was going to take months.  Packaging and shipping too and fro cost more than the actual repair did.  This was my first Gravotech machine and I likely would never get another based on lack of service and training options.

That sounds just like that company over the past 30 years. If you were an industrial large account, it would be a different story I bet.

I set up a maintenance/repair visit thru Gravograph last year. They sent out a traveling repairman (Richard) to do some preventative items on my IS400. Contact their tech support.

I am sorry to hear of your recent frustrations with the Gravotech service department.  Please know that we greatly value your business and feedback.  Our company is currently experiencing phenomenal growth and honestly still climbing out of the Covid era struggles.  We understand from a customer's perspective that it can be unfavorable to experience these things, but we are working diligently to correct.

We repair most all New Hermes and GravoGraph Engravers. We have lots of oem parts and fabricate our own when not available or the replacement part is poor hense its fail.  Your issue is probably an easy fix. I attached a V7000 flyer. IS700 is a V7000 with an IS controller.

It is pretty hard to see from your pix but it looks like X & Y axis is offsetting. Is diamond cutter loose in spindle? I recommend a diamond drag adapter which is a solid mount and does no damage to your center shaft on spindle. Next possibility is leadscrew nuts and thrust bearing out of adjustment. push and pull on spindle head for and aft, and to and fro.  catalog attached may help.
