    Good morning Community!
I have a general question i want to ask to spark ideas for gift items that are small and travel well. I can think of many things, but i feel they are all the standard, ordinary items.  I was hoping to pick your brains for some fun ideas.
My customers are government/embassy related and look for items that are nice, easy to carry abroad, appropriate for all levels of command, and that can be decorated, of course.  I have provided small crystal pieces, pewter items, desk items, but need a few more unique items.  Something current, mainstream, more up to date.  No electronics.
I appreciate any ideas you have.  thank you.

    Hello Carol,

I travel a bit and my most used item when traveling through airports and countries, where they limit the things you can walk around with in your pockets, for me, has often been one of those TSA compliant style multi tools. They usually have like, a bottle opener and maybe a small screwdriver... They have been super helpful... The Gerber "Shard" stands out in my memory... They are small and usually run under 10 bucks... There are a bunch of similar items that make interesting gifts. You could probably decorate some of them..? Check out https://everydaycarry.com/best-keychain-multi-tools

    Hope that helps.

    Good luck in your search,

I suppose it depends on how you want to decorate them, but here's a few ideas I thought of: 3m and Scotch both (and maybe other brands) have out these 'pocket lint sheets' that the packages can be printed on, luggage tags (laser engraved, or printed), hand sanitizer (okay that's probably been over done, but still useful), bottle openers that fit in your wallet like a credit card (laser engrave or print on), wireless ear buds, key chains, notebooks/planners, sleep masks/blankets/backpacks all good stuff.  Good luck!

My husband travels for work a lot all around the world. One of his favorites is a multi screwdriver. Is compact, about the size of a pen, and he can put a few in his pocket. Unfortunately, occasionally, TSA will decline allowing them in carry-on bags. We've also found that small flat cutting boards travel well. Additionally, he has ordered plush mascots, which are very lightweight. One of my personal favorites is a hand held luggage scale. We also like the V device holders. They are made of plastic and have a groove cut in it so you can stand up your iPhone or iPad on them. Take up almost no space at all.  Corkscrew.

Thank you, Lori.  I'll look into these items as well.
    Happy labor day weekend!
