We recently purchased a business and they had a xenetech rotary. It works fine and we can't really afford to buy a new one. We don't do a lot of work with it anyway. Mostly existing perpetualls. As you can see it's missing part of the cover. Anyone have any suggestions where i can find one?

Since Xenetech is no longer in business you'll need to do what you are doing here and ask around.  You could reach out to the good folks at Engraving Concepts to see if they have one on a shelf in a hidden back corner somewhere.  https://engravingconcepts.com/

    Rana,

We kept a lot of Xenetech parts & pieces for years but, alas, our inventory ran out quite a while ago. :(

Are you a Facebook person? If so, we have a group for "orphaned" Xenetech owners. Someone there might be parting out his/her 912. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1563646143998648

Beyond that, I know a handful of former Xenetech employees who MIGHT (very slight possibility but still...) have a few parts & pieces. If you don't find what you need on Facebook, send me an email -- jeanette@engravingconcepts.com -- and I'll forward it to a couple of those folks.

    Good luck!

If you have a good chip removal system, that could eliminate the need for the horrible covers provided. The oem covers are somewhat sharp and typically chips fall down.  Also to do any cleaning of the tray, table or base requires removing them.  I call what you have shown to be best. We also have most parts for X engravers.

    Rana,

The photo of your Xenetech 912 appears to not have a belt for rotary engraving.  Adding a belt would allow you to do burnishing and plastics that are not laser friendly.

I took my left hand cover off as soon as I received my machine back in the 90's - it still runs perfectly. I have a feeling, if you do find a cover, you will take it back off very quickly! You will have more and better access for different size plates and parts w/o that cover. I do a lot of taller items and weird shapes since I am near a military base, the extra room is helpfull.

I will look around to see if I still have one of the covers.

I do have 2 other 9x12's I could part with - 1 is Brand New since it has never been set up to use - Long story but it was bought and never used by a school system and then put into storage for a period of time.
